St. Patty's Day Smoothie

If you know me, you know I love smoothies.  They are a perfect way to satisfy a sweet tooth, replace a meal, or simply add some key nutrients to your diet.

I, for one, am not a huge fan of spinach, but it's so good for you.  So to get all of its health benefits, I add it to smoothies! It may sound gross, but spinach has such a mild flavor anyway that you can't even taste it when its blended with fruit, yogurt, and other delicious ingredients. If you've never had a green smoothie, or if you're just looking for a new recipe, try this one! It's packed full of healthy foods and plenty of protein to keep you satisfied throughout the day. It's super easy, delicious, and perfect for upcoming St. Patty's Day!

Here's what you'll need:

1 cup (8 oz.) skim milk (or whatever kind you prefer)
2 cups of raw spinach
1 medium banana
2 kiwi
1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
1 tsp. spirulina (Never heard of spirulina? Check out this link.

Put all the ingredients in the blender.

Blend until smooth.

To top it off, I added a few ice cubes and frozen raspberries. Enjoy!

This recipe makes two servings.
